Mindful Mandalas Class

May is Mental Health Month! Explore mindfulness through creative expression in this Mindful Mandalas Class. Through a blend of informative presentations and hands-on practice, participants will gain valuable skills for managing stress and fostering well-being both in their professional pursuits and personal lives.
Open to all SMD graduate students and postdocs. Limited to 25 participants. Lunch is provided. All supplies are included. Event flier.

myHub will be holding a two day teaching retreat for trainees in early August 2024. We have recruited former SMD graduate student, Jennifer Newell, Ph.D., who is now a full-time Senior Lecturer of Biochemistry faculty member at the University of Maine, to share her knowledge, passion, and experience in a two-day interactive teaching retreat. Food and resources will be provided throughout the two day event.

A research study conducted in 2019 by Rebecca Martin showed a clear link between self-compassion and academic success among college students. To foster the complex skill of self-kindness, the Mindful University Project has created an online self-compassion guide.
