Improve Your Grant Writing Skills with F-Club

myHub will again host an “F-Club”, which will serve as a peer writing support group for individuals interested in writing applications for F awards. Applicants will have the opportunity to improve their grant writing skills via peer review with oversight by the Director of Writing Services and Training Grant Development, Dr. Elaine Smolock. 

NEW for this cohort, the writing club will be accompanied by Grant Writing Modules that have been developed in partnership with Archer Careers. This initiative is intended to provide self-guided materials to improve aspects of grant writing and better prepare you to successfully apply for NIH fellowships.

The club will meet on Thursdays and begin Feb. 8 and run through March 19, 2024. If you would like to participate, please complete this short survey by January 31.

Addictions Counseling Advanced Cert: Apply Now for the Addictions Counseling Advanced Certificate Program

Gain an integrated understanding of addictions and holistic recovery processes in this innovative program. A collaboration of the Warner School of Education and Strong Recovery, the program offers healthcare and mental health professionals and trainees additional substance use disorders and addictions treatment training.

The 4th Annual Vanderbilt Integrated Training Alliance (VITA)

On Friday, March 22, 2024, The Vanderbilt University Office of Biomedical Research Education and Training (BRET) is hosting the 4th annual Vanderbilt Integrated Training Alliance (VITA), a virtual postdoc preview for senior graduate students.

About the VITA symposium: The VITA symposium in Biomedical Sciences is designed to introduce senior graduate students to the research and resources at Vanderbilt and to help them develop skills that will enhance their postdoctoral career.  

Program elements: Participation in VITA will include:

  • Communication Training from the Alan Alda Center for Communicating Science. Through a layered series of applied improvisational and communication exercises, participants will explore and practice using communication strategies. Find out more here
  • An introduction to ASPIRE, the BRET office of professional development
  • Opportunity to meet with current Vanderbilt postdocs
  • Individual meetings with Vanderbilt research faculty members
