Welcome to the new Clinical Bioethics Program quarterly newsletter! In this inaugural issue, we celebrate the graduates of our Nurse Ethics Liaisons Program. This newsletter will include stories, recent news, publications, and upcoming educational opportunities. It will highlight the excellent work of our faculty, staff, and students and provide a place for sharing ideas. 

Publication Highlight

Many of our 2022 NEL graduates are working on projects to contribute to a culture of ethical practice and decrease moral distress. The linked article used the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) framework to support a quality improvement project.

Clinical Bioethics Fellowship: Graduation News

We are excited to congratulate Mike Nabozny, MD on completion of the program!

Dr. Nabozny is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery & holds joint appointments in the Department of Health Humanities & Bioethics and the Department of Pediatrics. His areas of expertise include general & trauma surgery, critical care, medical ethics, surgical education, & chest wall reconstruction after trauma.

Graduate Spotlight

Laine DiNoto and Shelly Baker won the Claire Murray Best Practices Award for their capstone project, "Use of Reflective Practice to Navigate Ethical Dilemmas," and were selected to present at the 2023 NY Organization for Nursing Leadership Annual Meeting in September. Congratulations Laine & Shelly!
