Train the Trainers

The Train the Trainers (TTT) is a highly successful program designed to disseminate teaching skills to those gastroenterologists who hold training positions in their own countries. Delegates are equipped with both skills and tools which they can then implement on their home ground. Not only has this workshop been enthusiastically received by all WGO member societies around the world, it continues to provide an excellent forum for the exchange of ideas and the establishment of contacts between various countries, in an environment which is conducive to learning and interaction.

Since its inception in 2001, WGO has held over 32 workshops throughout the world. TTT is a three-day workshop that is limited to 50 participants who are nominated by their GI Society so as to ensure that we are reaching out to the educators. To learn more about who can attend, click here.

The basis and success of the TTT is that it is designed to bring together trainers from across the globe in an intensive and interactive workshop, dedicated to the development of teaching and training skills. The workshop format is structured around a series of modules introduced via lectures, which then leads to related discussion groups and are concluded by presentations on the topics by the participants. Incorporated into the program are also recreational team-building activities that offer valuable opportunities for participants to become acquainted outside of the educational focus of the program. We all learn together.

Not one TTT workshop is the same as the last, and as the years have passed, we have created new modules, refreshed previous modules, updating. the content within the modules. These changes have been made to the curriculum as a result of feedback, in addition to advancements in current educational techniques and philosophies.
