2023 One Community Panelist Application Form
The Paul J. Burgett Intercultural Center oversees the Presidential Diversity Award Winning One Community Program. We are currently seeking applications from undergraduate students to serve as panelists for the in-person 2023 One Community program held during Welcome Week for incoming first year and transfer students on Monday, August 28th.

The One Community program engages incoming first year and transfer students in a discussion that explores the way the University of Rochester community is shaped by all of our intersecting identities. This year's program is an hour-long in-person session during which several upperclassman students share narratives about the ways their identities have positively and negatively affected their college experience.

The purpose of the One Community program is to provide incoming students with an opportunity to spend time thinking carefully about their own identities, hear narratives of the experiences of others, and provide them with tools to address situations that inevitably arise from difficult topics such as race/ethnicity, class, ability, gender, sexual orientation, religion, and other identity markers.

If you have a great story to share about how you self identify, the intersections of your identity, or how your various identities have had an impact on your college experience, please apply to be a panelist! If you have any questions, please email bic@rochester.edu.

Thank you for applying!
