COMPETITION INFORMATION
SMD Entrepreneurs + MyHub + Ain Center present the Big Ideas in Science and Medicine Business Pitch Competition. If you have a marketable solution to a nagging and costly problem in your field, bring it to the table! This competition gives the opportunity to pitch your idea to a panel of esteemed judges, including University of Rochester Medical Center alumni, who have achieved entrepreneurial success in healthcare and biotech.

To be considered to pitch, fill out the form below. If accepted, you will create a 3-minute pitch to cover the problem you are solving, your solution to the problem, financials and venture overview, and the team that is going to help you solve the problem. Then, you'll prove how much you know by answering questions from the esteemed judges!
Eligibility:
- Teams may consist of no more than five individuals.
- All participants must currently be enrolled at the University of Rochester. Companies may include non-UR students on their executive team, but only active UR students are eligible to present the business model and receive prize money.
- Team members must be students in the School of Medicine & Dentistry OR be majoring in biomedical engineering on the River Campus. If you have questions about whether or not you are eligible, please contact the Ain Center.
- Entries for a business that is already earning revenue will not be considered. Additional guidelines regarding competition prizes are as follows:
- Only students listed in the Team Member section of the Competition Application will be eligible for any prize money awarded.
- Prize money will be split evenly among all team members listed in the application. No exceptions.
- Cash prizes are not tax-exempt. International students may have additional holds; please contact ISO with any questions.
