July 3, 2022. He is survived by his wife, Dr. Katie Palumbo; children, Scarlett and Jack Cotroneo; parents, Joe & Linda Cotroneo; in-laws, Jan and Tony Palumbo; siblings, Laurie (Greg) Mauger, Steven (Meghan) Cotroneo, Matt (Max Stern) Cotroneo, TD Palumbo (Meghan), Kevin Palumbo (Tammy Tings), Jeff Palumbo (Amanda); nieces and nephews, Isla Cotroneo, Jameson and Adelina Mauger, Lily and Grace Palumbo, Sophia and Luke Palumbo; several aunts, uncles, extended family. Chris married the love of his life, Katie, in 2011. Their two children, Scarlett and Jack, were the lights of Chris’s life. Chris put family and medicine first. He dedicated his time to his children, reading together nightly, building an outdoor backyard paradise, and introducing them to the joys of music and sporting events, including visits to Cornell for hockey. He also shared his love of the Yankees with his kids. Scarlett and Jack could always count on their father winning several boardwalk prizes for them on their beach vacations. Chris’s guilty pleasure was playing video games with his son. Chris often hosted parties at his home with family and friends; he was an excellent chef, bartender, and keeper of his beloved firepits. Chris attended Cornell University (01’) followed by the University of Rochester Medical School (‘05). He met his wife during his fourth year of medical school after which they moved to Houston, TX where Chris completed an Internal Medicine-Pediatric Residency at Baylor College of Medicine (‘09). Chris loved being a physician. He was a gifted teacher, educator, and clinician who relished an intellectual challenge and serving others. He was dedicated to his patients at Highland Hospital and his community as a volunteer pediatrician for the Dream Factory of Rochester. His kind, gentle and generous spirit will be missed. Friends may call Friday, July 15 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM at the funeral chapel (2305 Monroe Ave.). A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, July 16, 9AM at St. Louis Church, 64 South Main St, Pittsford.
