Off the Clock

Nicholas Bartell, MD, (left) and Erica Risley (right) posing with their sourdough startersOur Gastroenterology & Hepatology Division has the ingredients for success both on and off the clock. Several members of the Division have bonded over one key ingredient: sourdough starter. Chief Mark Levstik, MD, is among the spare-time bakers and shared his sourdough starter with GI Practice Manager Erica Risley, who lovingly named the fermented goo Mona Lisa. Nicholas Bartell, MD, made his own starter from scratch and would put it up against Levstik’s any day! I smell a sourdough bake-off in our near future!
