Jared Walsh to Return as General Medicine Chief in May
Jared P. Walsh, MD, a former Department of Medicine faculty member, will return to the Medicine Center as the next chief of General Medicine in May. As chief, Walsh will focus on faculty development and wellness, fostering resident training, retaining graduates, and supporting a culture of equity. Welcome back, Dr. Walsh!

UR Mentor LAB: Apply now for this group-based peer mentoring initiative designed to foster faculty growth, collaboration, and leadership. Small groups of faculty meet four times throughout the academic year for structured mentoring sessions. UR Mentor LAB is open to faculty at all stages of their careers. Geriatric Faculty Scholars Program: The UR Aging Institute seeks SON and SMD junior and mid-career academic faculty interested in geriatric education development and advancing the Age-Friendly Health System model. Up to two scholars will be selected to receive a $5,000 stipend to enhance teaching and leadership skills and support career development as academic educators in geriatrics and gerontology. Apply by Monday, March 30.

Baby Yoel Gideon Vaillancourt was born December 30, joining his four siblings and small dog. Outside of work, Raz enjoys playing cello in the Rochester Medical Orchestra and practices with each of her four older children on their instruments every day.
