Letter from the Chair
Ruth O'Regan

It’s a fresh new year, a time of resolutions and planning for the future. But as famed pragmatist John Dewey once said, “we don’t learn from experience, we learn from reflecting on experience.”

Last summer, DOM leadership pulled together a quinquennial review, a look back at the department’s operations and successes over the past five years.

That reflective exercise helped inform a vision for our next five years, which is aligned with the Medical Center’s “One Team, One Purpose” vision and the University's Boundless Possibility strategic plan

Our new vision will focus on enhancing transdisciplinary collaboration, integration, and efficiency across our system, improving patient access, strategic recruitment and retention efforts, and diversifying funding sources.

I will share more details at our February 9 town hall. Don’t miss it!

Be well,
Ruth O'Regan, MD
