Celebrating Wilmot Cancer Institute’s NCI Success
 
Earning National Cancer Institute designation is a tremendous milestone for the Wilmot Cancer Institute and Medical Center. Collaboration and commitment to excellence across the DOM were critical to success. “We are excited to join the elite cancer centers. Thanks to Jonathan Friedberg for his unrelenting efforts to secure the designation,” said Ruth O’Regan, MD, Chair of Medicine. She is part of the senior leadership team that helped bring this to fruition, along with Paul Barr, MD, Laura Calvi, MD, Carla Casulo, MD, Allison Magnuson, DO, Supriya Mohile, MD, MS; Nicole O’Dell, PhD, and Patricia Rivera, MD.     Off the Clock Turning Back the Clock  
 

Today is Match Day and SMD students are preparing for the next phase of medical training, and we’re turning back the clock: To 2019 and a trio of SUNY Upstate Medical University students were excited for their future at URMC. Six years later, Jordana Gilman, MD, MPH, is a Highland Ob/Gyn; Alexandra France, MD, is a third-year fellow in Gastroenterology and Hepatology joining the faculty this summer; and Jenny Schreiber, MD, is a Highland hospitalist and a former chief resident.
