The footer component

The footer component allows you to add elements like a global menu and links to social media profiles to a site's footer. Check out the footer component in action on the Commencement Weekend site and the University Marketing and Communications site. You can now activate the footer component from any site that runs on Rochester Core.

An enhanced query component

The Query Component allows you to build dynamic feeds that are populated with posts based on your posts’ categories and tags. We’re making big design changes and enhancing the component performance. Development work is underway and is expected to be completed in April.

Introducing University Marketing and Communications

University Communications is now University Marketing and Communications. Initiated by the arrival of Page Hetzel, the University’s new and first VP for marketing and communications, the name change reflects a strategic broadening of the department’s scope to enhance the University’s global visibility.

On Thursday, April 25, at 1 p.m., University Marketing and Communications team members will provide a detailed overview of the Rochester Core WordPress theme, including the front-end and back-end experiences for each component.

Rochester Core training now in MyPath

A WordPress administration course is now available to all University staff members in MyPath. The course includes 21 chapters on best practices for web administration and how to use each component in the Rochester Core WordPress theme. The training can be found by searching for 'WordPress' in MyPath.
