Letter From the Chair

Ruth O'Regan

Happy New Year everyone! I hope that you all had a great holiday. For me personally, I took some time to enjoy simply chilling out at home, and played a few rounds of tennis on those days when the weather was quite un-winterlike.

I would love for everyone in the department to really get to know each other. What holiday traditions do you have? Do you have any New Year resolutions? If you have photos or fun stories from the holidays that you're willing to share, please send them in!

With the new year upon us, we can turn our focus to the future. May it bring new experiences, enrich your lives, and see goals accomplished. I’m excited to see what each of you does this year.

Be well,
Ruth O'Regan, M.D.

    Off the Clock

Ashish Boghani, MBBS, MD, a hospitalist at Highland Hospital, visited Nepal in October/November 2022 with a few family members. He reached an altitude of 16,600 feet during a trek to Gokyo Lake, in close proximity to Mount Everest. In this incredible vista, you can see Gokyo village just above the lake, a large glacier, and in the mountain range, Everest is just visible behind the middle peak. Ashish has done several treks in the Indian Himalayas before, and this was his first trek in Nepal. If you ever want to go trekking in the Himalayas, Ashish is happy to share information with you!
