Watch Your Inbox: Survey Coming Soon!

We recently announced the DOM initiative to develop a multi-year strategic plan. The first step is to collect input and opinions from a broad array of stakeholders. We value the voices of everyone in the department, and a survey will be going out in February to collect your initial thoughts: what do you believe are the values of the DOM? What's your vision of the future? Where can we improve? Participation is not required, but strongly encouraged. Look for more details on the survey in the next newsletter, as well as email communications from Dr. O'Regan.

Do you want to be a mentor?

The School of Medicine & Dentistry is preparing for its 2022 Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF), and is looking for faculty members to serve as principal investigators to program participants.

SURF is a 10-week academic program that will be held in person for students from May 29 to August 5. Student participants conduct research in a medical center lab under the mentorship of our faculty. As a mentor, faculty will have regular contact with their student mentee, assist the student in developing a poster and oral presentation, and attend the PI/student lunch at the end of May.

If you are interested in becoming a mentor, reach out to the team at URSMDPipeline@urmc.rochester.edu
